About Me

Charlotte completed her PhD in the Salgado Lab in 2024, funded by a Barbour Foundation Scholarship and co-supervised by Prof. Waldemar Vollmer. Her thesis, Novel insights into the molecular mechanisms of Clostridioides difficile spore engulfment, combined microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology to characterise engulfasome peptidoglycan hydrolases.

She is now a Commercial Scientist at Aelius Biotech. Outside the lab, she remains active in science communication and with the Microbiology Society.
